My fashionistas, don’t have anything to wear? Look again, but this time be creative. You can be a fashionista using your existing wardrobe, here’s how:

Skirts that Score

This flowy gypsy navy skirt I picked up from a flea market in Dhaka few years ago. You will be shocked to know the price, just BDT100.00 (Approx. GBP 0.80), yes you read it right!

It was the market in which you get export quality garments which get rejected because of slight(nearly invisible) defects. Although I haven’t spotted any defect in this skirt. Gypsy skirts are very romantic, dramatic and always a story to tell. While on holiday, you want to wear something comfy, flowy and at the same time very casual as I walk for miles while sight-seeing and if I plan to hop on the beach to walk in the sand and take a dip in the water, then I don’t want to wear anything that is delicate and requires a bit effort to maintain. During my last holiday in Spain, I was running out of clothes, I ended up bringing out this 6 years old skirt and wore it as a off-shoulder dress, since it is very flowy and swirly, so I wanted to have a definition around the bust area and what better way to do it than attaching a belt there, so I have worn this braided golden belt from Forever21. I have again worn some old jewelleries here. My neckpiece is a wonder buy from Primark , the ring is a WOWZER that I collected from a sunday antique market in NYC called ”The Garage”. My gold bangle is from Forever21, you can find them almost everywhere, but if you buy it from India, they are lot cheaper! I wore layers of friendship bands in my ankle that I bought from sea-side market in Malaga, you can find them literally everywhere in Spain. As I said, this time, it was all about digging out the closet-whether it is for clothes or for shoes, so I have worn this flip-flop that is again bought from Aarong, Dhaka. You have worn jari border kurtis, sarees, tops, it was my time to don a Jari border chappal. An amalgamationof turquoise blue, navy blue and golden= gorgeous, sophisticated combination. My nailpaint is from No. 7 and lipgloss is from Mac.

The key to this way of dressing is to experiment with different looks. Try wearing a skirt as a dress, with a belt, with a statement necklace or layered with a bustier blouse and paired with a comfy flip-flop.

You will soon get in the habit of making sure that any new clothes you buy can be worn with at least three other items in your wardrobe and then you will have a wardrobe full of different outfits rather than just clothes.

This month why not dig out your old wardrobe and create a new Look. If you do, send me a pic, I will share on our Facebook page with all fashionistas:)
