Get over your flower crowns and fringes, festival goers! This year, Coachella was no longer branded as Fashionista festival rather shown us everything from butt cheeks to bare chest, sea punks to all sorts of unexplained costumes. Yes, like every year, the young Hollywood and almost all big-shots in fashion blogging gathered in one dusty destination in California last weekend, decked out in their boho-best at the king of all (fashion) music festival- Coachella.
Although I couldn’t be physically there but I was there in spirit, with this look, dressed in my Coachella Kimono. I sported this beach-boho look during my recent Island holiday in Hawaii. The common factor of this beach-apt look and the major fashion finding at Coachella this year was one thing- Accessories are key! Even your bikini needs a necklace or layers of it at Coachella and, on the beaches in Hawaii.
Major trends seen at this year’s Coachella were maxi dresses, fringed kimono, floral head accessories, layered necklaces, chunky silver jewelleries, ankle boots, bra-let paired with maxi skirts or harem pants. I love them all. In fact, they all would come with me for summer holidays in off-beat destinations. For the moment, I thank River Island for naming this fringed Kimono Coachella, so relevant! It helped me much to avoid extra sun-exposure when laying on the beach. I liked how it coincidentally created a contrast to this turquoise blue bikini.
Going to Coachella will be really a special experience- from the amazing weather, parties, fun in the sun with like-minded people, endless great music and of course the fashion. Coachella is fun in terms of fashion because you get to dress a bit different than you normally would- you get to let your inner hippie, sun loving goddess come out.
Last weekend, the road to coachella has come to an end. Another fantastic year of fashion, music and epic sunsets! One day, I will get to experience it all live. Fingers Crossed.
