Like a gently flowing river heading towards the delta to merge with the ocean, all the festivities during this time of the year starts off with office Christmas parties, meals with friends and families, actual Christmas day itself and finally splashing out the last waves of fiesta on the shores of the New Year’s Eve! Before I share with you my pick on what to wear this NYE, make sure you have got your fashion quotient high by reading previous blogposts on Holiday Season Lookbook series on what to wear for the Christmas Party with colleagues here, on a brunch or a meal with your girlfriends here and for a cosy family dinner here.
Ditching the ‘Oh-so-obvious’ red and ignoring the cliched black back to the wardrobe, I opted for a pleasant purple cape pleated lace insert maxi dress to witness the year turn its pages. Just like when the sky gets purple when the sun sets, announcing the transition between day and night, this purple dress gets into the mood of the occasion when we usher into the new year – bidding au revoir to the last year and embracing with open arms the new!
Wearing my hair in a up-do,I finished out the look with a shimmer-y champagne box clutch and a pair of stilettos in the same tone. A pair of statement earrings, diamonte studded two-tone ring and a polki bracelet have polished the look like a delicious desert as the last course of a fine dining experience.
So no one is turning purple with rage, instead the sage and stylistas will care to don the purple while the fireworks take over the night sky. If you have felt inspired by the style stories in the Holiday Season Lookbook series, why not share with your friends now so that they also can plan in advance what to put on? Wishes you and your family a prosperous and stylish 2018.
Stay tuned, stay stunned.
