London snowfall is like a dream. Especially when we woke up on a Sunday a few days ago and got shocked to realise that we were in the white wonderland. London was witnessing a seriously heavy snowfall! A few pinches and a few rubbing of the eyes to make sure we were indeed not dreaming. And true indeed it was, not mere sleets or the icy cold rain drops – the snowy flakes were in a hurry to paint the world white.
London snowfall is indeed like a dream albeit a short-lived one. Given the scarcity of the natural phenomenon, it was a no-brainer to get the hunter boots out of the closet hurriedly for some snow patrol.
The feeling of the snow flakes gently landing on the face even before the daily usual splash of water felt extraordinary. What a feeling to be waking up not by washing your face with water but with snow!
Rooftops, lawns, landings, trees, cars – everything got covered with the heavy layer of white candyfloss from the skies. No place to play hide and seek but with the branches of trees holding on to the snow that fell. Life gives the choice to lie on a bed of roses or on an ocean of white snow – we chose the latter that day!
A perfect snowy day it was for us to head to our local pub for a Sunday brunch to celebrate the London snowfall. Some fish and chips for her and a sumptuous English breakfast for him were sufficient to keep the appetite checked from inside while we enjoyed the continuous snow fall through the pub windows.
