A marsala red sequins and beads embellished saree with sheer blouse is my sparkling star in the vogue sky this Diwali. I tried to respect a vintage glam theme with this chiffon saree which lightened up my look especially because this specific SareeSutra shoot was conducted in the historic Leadenhall Market in the City of London.

Oozing vintage charm all around, Leadenhall Market is one of the oldest markets in London which dates back to 14th century. With its gorgeous roof structure in a melange of maroon, cream and green paint, the market’s colour combinations greatly emboldened my beads embellished saree. No sheer luck that the sheer blouse did rouse the temperatures in the gazing eyes, but Diwali is about lights and fireworks isn’t it? As long as they are safe and sensible, bright lights and hovering looks are all part of the festivity during Diwali and always.

An ardent proponent of a minimalistic Diwali without using fireworks which simply increase air and sound pollution all around, I intended to even keep my Diwali look more along the minimalistic line by having little jewellery to complement the heavily embellished saree. The marsala red splashed enough masala in the style substance so less was certainly more.

Diwali is also about lighting up dark corners, decorating the house, exchanging gifts, sweets and feasting. After the house decorations are done, why deprive your own hands from being decorated too? A perfect occasion this time that I adorned both of my hands with a beautifully deep henna design which gelled plausibly well with the marsala red colour of the saree.

Think about being the light yourself this Diwali. Candles, diyas (oil lamps) and fireworks will certainly lighten up the house and the sky above but with the rise and shining of your inner and outer diva, you can brighten up the gloomiest of days and lives of others around. This post intended to inspire your outer diva look this Diwali so leave a comment below to tell me how inspired you feel now?
