Life has been on a joyful path ever since we shared the big announcement of happiness on our expecting a new arrival between us. Much like the eight phases of the moon that take place every month, our happiness as a couple is surely going through various phases of elation and ecstasy. In this post, we share with you some blissful memories we created in our Babymoon in Venice and also a word or two on revealing the gender of our baby!
Of the 48 countries we have travelled to so far, each seemed like a honeymoon every time we hit the road on a new road trip or touched the sky on a new flight. After these numerous honeymoons, it was time for a babymoon this year to celebrate through travelling – the bonding we share as a couple perhaps for the last time before it gets even stronger in a matter of a few more months with the arrival of a new member who will connect the two of us via a common bloodline.
We took the 18 years of our romance this time to the City of Love – Venice. Unlike any other city in the whole world, Venice with its interconnected canals and the narrow alleys transport every visitor to a wonderland unparalleled by any other city. We took cosy little walks along the alleys of San Marco neighbourhood reflecting on so many of our wonderful journeys together. Ups and downs, fasts and slows, happy and sad – we had plenty of time to pause and look back, while we looked forward in anticipation of the monumental change we were so eager to welcome between ourselves.
We went with the slow flow of the gondola ride across the charming canals of Venice. Where the pace was slow, curves ahead were unknown and the combination of the old and new Venetian structures created an auspicious anticipation. We took a pose on one of the 400+ bridges of Venice and contemplated on the bridge of life that we were standing on. The life the two of us have on one end and the new life that beckons us on the other, this Babymoon being the bridge in between.
While the Babymoon in Venice passed like a pleasant dream, we enjoyed the fact of not knowing the gender of our unborn baby then. At times not knowing felt like a pure bliss because of sweet speculations. Back home in London, we allowed the required number of weeks to pass and around the 20th week, the routine ultrasound scan did reveal to us whether we would be proud and excited parents of a baby boy or a baby girl.
Experiencing this tremendous surprise was one of the most memorable moments of our lives. So much so that we want to continue to hold on to this sweet secret all between the two of us until the time the baby will finally arrive and we will announce to our friends, families and followers. Very recently both our younger brothers became proud fathers of beautiful baby daughters. And in the case of Tanusree’s brother, we did not know the gender of the baby beforehand since it is illegal to determine the sex of the foetus in India, on the other hand, in Shehzaad’s brother’s case, we knew already if it were a boy or a girl!
Not that the joy was any way less either way, but it felt the surprise element will surpass all levels if the secret is kept until the final moment. Hence, we will keep the sweet secret to ourselves for the time being and will tease you for a few months more to share with you the joy finally when it happens in very near future. After all, what we want is a healthy baby and it really doesn’t matter whether it’s a boy or a girl and we are sure you would agree with us on this point.
Hope you’ve enjoyed our blissful journey through our Babymoon and you are as excited as we are as we go through the last trimester as the last leg of this wonderful experience of our lives. Leave us a comment so that we can reveal with you more of our sincere stories and secrets through this pregnancy.1
