It’s no secret that dresses are my go-to outfit staple. When I’m getting dolled up for a day date or date night, you will most likely find me wearing dresses and accessorise the look with headgears, heels and bright lips. I have a few casual dresses too that are appropriate for work, hospital visits (considering my current status), grocery shopping trips, florist visits etc. and I never seem to tire of them. I get a lot of questions about pregnancy style without spending much on maternity clothes and how to look stylish without being uncomfortable, so today I thought I’d show you a fun way to style a non-maternity sweater dress which I picked from the TRF (Teenager) section at Zara just for £12.99 as 37 weeks pregnant. Yes, you just read that right! Since it is stretchy, I just went 1 size up to make sure I have enough room for the bump to breath and pop.
My rule of thumb when styling a sweater dress is to add a belt to give definition to your waistline. Another tip is to go for neutral colors like black, camel, red, grey, army green etc. as the neutral shades also allow you to have fun with stylish accessories.
When styling the rest of your look, wear a pair of sheer tights paired with boots (for day time) or heeled court shoes (for evening look). I absolutely love this simple camel colored sweater dress paired with matching hat and brown tote for a streamlined appearance but with a glamorous touch. And my final tip for pulling together this look? Layer it with a long overcoat.
