Surely you would agree that the festive last few months of every year leading upto Christmas and New Year is possibly the best phase for fashion afficionados to put their best foot forward. Be it for numerous Christmas parties, one with the family, one with the colleagues and one with close friends – occasions to strut your sartorial elegance are plenty and here I am in this blogpost with a few more bubbles of style inspirations for you to showcase during this festive period.
If the London sky changes its shades so often even on a single day, what’s stopping you from donning different diva avatars depending on the day? While some want to look a sexy siren like Jennifer Lopez with plunged neckline and glossy legs, some opt for the cute and fairy princess look like Blair Waldorf from the Gossip Girls. Then there are many who want to look elegant in elegant and classic styles such as the ones worn by the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. Unless you are thinking of getting all decked up and pretty on the Christmas Day itself, you can surely try out all the different style inspirations mentioned above and many more, to suit your personality, preference and the festive occasion this season. Let me inspire you how!
Look#1: Classic & elegant look
Take a bow ‘bow’ because bows are the biggest trend this year now and it’s the bows which are my signature style ingredient for the classic and elegant look. A navy lace dress with back bow is what I am wearing with side-swept hair in soft curls to unfurl the festive aura. To amplify the access to the league of classic beauty, I accessorized this look with a pair of statement earrings from TribeByAmrapalli, a clutch from Zara and a pair of Dune London shoes, which are the high street’s answer to Manolo Blahnik may be?
As I walked through the Burlington Arcade in Central London wearing this gorgeous attire, the elements of attraction all around complemented the look perfectly. With festive glitz and glamour as the backdrop, I settled myself with a poise on the navy-velvet sofa with pretty pink baubles to keep me company, right in front of a boutique inside the arcade. The elegant navy dress with the pink faux fur stole simply stole the occasion it seemed. Classic and elegant, navy will always be in vogue in this season every year but it’s the pink stole that contrasted sharply to be in sync with the festive fervour flying around.
Look#2: Cute, bubbly modern-day fairy princess
Next on is a look where we swap being classic and elegant for a modern day, bubbly princess look ready to open a bottle of bubbly anytime now. To embrace the joyful vibes, an embellished burgundy dress with high-low details is what I have gone for. An OTT pearl adorned headband sitting pretty on my head brought out the Blair Waldorf (from Gossip Girl) in me. And finally, a LoveToBag pearl clutch clutching against my arms and a silver pencil heel from Dune London were all that I needed to complete this cute and bubbly modern-day fairy princess look.
Look#3: Sexy & sultry goddess in (rose) gold
Saving the best for the last, my 3rd look inspiration for you is a rose gold sequins dress with plunge neckline. The dress itself might have fallen short of doing true justice to the joyful vibe in air had the look not been shot against the most gorgeous Christmas décor in London. Sitting pretty as a massive wrapped up gift box waiting to be unveiled, the Cartier outlet in New Bond Street ticks all the right boxes of a chic and unusually attractive decoration to light up the Christmas spirit.
This sultry style siren of a dress that I have put on is no less than a shiny, posh and sparkling gift in its own right. With all the ooze of oomph waiting to be unveiled during this ornamented period, the dress got paired with gold metallic stilettos, a caged clutch as a statement piece and statement earrings. Finally the red lipsticks simply sealed the deal as the mega gift box of a Cartier shop got itself sealed itself only to be unraveled on the right occasion. Not to mention that the iconic red telephone booth – an unequivocal emblem of London situated just in front of the Cartier shop added the bonus bonanza to the gorgeous rose gold attire.
Worth sharing some behind the scenes bits too that it was raining (oh so usual) quite rigorously while we were shooting this look but it could not dampen the style spirit. On the contrary, the rain awash streets did a favour by reflecting the luminous surroundings. As the cherry on the cake, the ravishing rose gold dress carried itself with equal glitz that of a shiny gold Oscar trophy. Now whether you would be the trophy yourself with this sexy and sultry look is for you to decide, but when all the performers in your look act well in a well scripted style saga, then you are bound to make a few hits in any case.
So there you have it, three look inspirations for you during this festive season to feel inspired and imbibe. Like the right notes in a symphony, I have presented to you from looking classy and elegant to looking like a cute princess and finally the sultry, sexy fashionista self is what you can aim for to create the perfect à la mode melody this Christmas.
