My fashionistas, this Sunday was truly sunny, being the first day of the Bengali calendar, I have more than one reasons to celebrate. I headed to the Alchemy festival that is held for 10 days at the South Bank centre in London.
Check out the details here http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/whatson/festivals-series/alchemy if you are in London and haven’t been there yet.It is said that you must wear new clothes on the first day of the new year. The logic behind this is that you have the good fortune to wear new clothes all throughout the year, if you do so on the very 1st day. Well, am sure by now you all know that I probbaly need just one more excuse to shop and get me some new goodies;) The dress I am wearing is certainly new but this is not the first time I wore it, in fact nothing in this Look is new except my latest fashion ” investment”- my Michale Kors Tote and Wallet. I remember, there was a dialogue in the film Confessions of a Shopoholic where the narrative says if you buy a high-end designer item, you just console your credit card bills or bank statement by calling it an ”investment”. Hah hah hah;) I had set my eyes on this tote forever. Since MK’s US website doesn’t deliver in the UK, and I wasn’t finding this particular colour in the stores accross London, I had to wait…for too long probably. Worth the wait, I must say! I have to add here, apart from basic colours- red, white and black, my two most favourite colors are -this green and turquoise blue. There was a time in my life I used to buy every single item in and around this green, then one day I decided to stop and add some other colors in my wardrobe. I have successfully controlled my desire to buy anything in green for couple of years now until I saw this beauty. I thought to re-visit my love for green in this spring-summer a lot. I just read it on a blog yesterday that in the Ancient time, the colour of love was not symbolized with the color pink or red but green. I even tried my nails this time in two other shades of green, let me know how you find it. No professional nailart accessories or equipments used, just two nail lacquer and voila!
Let me know how you find this beauty- MICHAEL Michael Kors Hamilton Large Tote, even if you don’t like, it doesn’t change my confidence over it;D I am quite happy that I also found the matching wallet which I wanted always. Oh yes! Ignore my messy hair-unruly wind is to blame. I felt better for taking a break from my black opaque tights and overcoat. Please dear weather God, stay like this, I beg of you;)!
So, when I finally decided to innaugrate this Arm Candy today, I thought why not power-dress it?! Talking about Power dressing, people often think that it is expensive and complicated. No, it isn’t, let me assure you.Other than the Tote, everyting I am wearing in this Look are picked from high-street star brands. So, again here comes the basic theory of accesorizing and mix N match-ing right. And please note that, you may not follow the traditional way to tie your hair like a lawyer, you can curtain your face with your lovely long locks and still look powerful:)
Try this, if you like it, drop me a line at the comment section, I like to hear what you have to say:)
