My fashionistas, hope you are having a great weekend so far. Usually my Monday blues start from Sunday evening but this weekend has been exceptional. Tomorrow morning, instead of taking London Underground train to work, I will be catching a plane to India. I thought to put up a quick post to share my this week’s new buys featuring my travelwears for the long haul flight tomorrow and some make-up kit staples.
For a long haul flight, I prefer to wear something extremely comfortable, I avoid belts, boots or complicated shoes that requires to tie laces or adjust straps, heels and I make sure I’m dressed in layers so that whenever needed I can take off or add one extra layer as per the temperature inside the flight or at the airport or when you arrive in your destination.
I was browsing through Zara‘s website just the other day and I just found my comfy pair of trouser to wear in a long haul flight. Although at the very first look, this cotton biker trouser appears to be a perfect gym wear but its stylish suede leather waist band with a leather strings makes you perfect fashionista at ease. I liked every neat detailing of this trouser eg; the front pockets with leather hemline will instantly bring your attention to it. It is useful to wear a pair of trouser with front pockets when you are travelling as you never know when you have to keep some changes or visiting cards whenever you meet new people. To go with this trouser, I wanted an easy going, soft hued Tee. I have observed I don’t have too many T-shirts in my wardrobe, mostly because I am all for feminine style. As soon as I spotted this crackle print T-shirt in Zara, I knew this is it! It is extremely comfortable, elegant and classy if you know how to team it up. So, I am going to wear this Tee tucked in with the biker trouser and layer it with a jersey blazer and a cotton scarf.
Oh! I have to tell you that I went to Smashbox‘s counter at Boots on Friday as they had a freebie event. Last week, Smashbox had organised an event to promote their new Autumn’s foundation collection for which they were giving away 50 foundations to people, first come first served basis. You just have to go to their Facebook page, join the group, click a photo of the page with your phone and show it to them at the counter. That’s it! I just happen to reach there on time and came home with a freebie foundation worth £30.00. Isn’t that WOW!
When I think of the season Autumn, the first color that comes to my mind is Tangerine or Orange. A brand new orange lipstick was in my wishlist for this season and I just found my favourite shade of Tangerine. This Infrared lipstick from Topshop not only saved my wallet (all my lipsticks are from high-end designers) but it didn’t also make me compromise on quality.
Last week I watched a video on Guardian in which my favourite make-up blogger and writer Sali Hughes had a smokey eye make-up session with the legendary Bobbi Brown in a New Jersey studio. Sali has reviewed six of the best make-up products that are staples for creating the perfect smokey eye. I have all the necessary products already on my dressing table to create this sexy, smudgy look that every woman loves to oblivion. But I couldn’t resist myself when I saw the kajal pencil. I loved the name. You know why?! In indian sub-continent, the black product that you use to draw your lower eye line or water line is called Kajal/ Kajol (In Hindi/Bengali). Many Indian women would probably use one make-up product in their lifetime and that is Kajal. In my growing up years, I used to make kajal at home. I learnt it from my grandmother who used to make it at home and applied to all my siblings including me when we were newborns. The logic behind this, was, we will have beautiful eyes, huh!(?) Going back to Bobbi’s kajal pencil, the best part is that it has a smudger on the other side that makes it so easy to create the smokey eye. While the make-up artist at the Bobbi Brown’s counter in Selfridge’s, showing me the kajal pencil, I noticed her eye lashes, I instantly asked, ”is it the false eye lashes that is doing the trick or she has an eyelash extension?”, to my surprise she said it is the effect of the smokey eye mascara she had applied-the brand new one that is launched with the kajal pencil. I didn’t wait for a second to get one for me, I always wish I had thicker and longer eye lashes! Long, lustrous eye lashes are the only thing on your face that makes you look instantly dolled-up, I reckon. So what I’m not blessed with a too long one, I can always rely on some magic wand like Bobbi Brown’s smokey eye mascara:)
Try it, drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you have to say.
