My fashionistas, I am back to my daily routines now- working 5 days a week like nothing exists outside my office and split the weekend between writing research paper, reading academic journals, exploring some hidden places in London, cooking, cleaning and photo-shooting + blogging:) This Saturday, I spent wandering the wonderful Christmas markets in London. Strolling along the waterfront and enjoying traditional wooden chalets serving up festive food, warming drinks, unique gifts and seasonal ingredients, trying mulled wine, eating churros and all sort of nibbles, checking out work from over 50 designers at the Designer Maker at the Festival Undercroft have been both fun and totally freezing. The Markets are like Farmers markets/art fairs on crack with a Christmas theme. It’s beautiful to see so many people smiling and chatting and enjoying with their family and friends.
Black on Black is always classy, yes, but it can be boring! I love colors! By playing with textures and statement accessories, you can inject a bit of fun into the brooding tone, I reckon. As one of my fashionista follower Madhurima pointed out on our Facebook page that this Look is all about the color of your shoes and lipstick. I have added an As-You-Shape-It neckpeice to add a funky twist to this ebony hues.
Here are few ways to wear all black in winter-
Adding textures: I have worn this knitted LBD under a funnel overcoat and styled it with a pair of tangerine suede wedges. Experiement with velvet, leather, chiffon…fashionistas do not limit to any rules!
Try a statement shoe or handbag: Wear a pair of neon shoes, definitely heels! Bright yellow, hot pink or parrot green over-sized handbag looks great with an all black outfit.
Wear a bright lippie: So what your outfit is dull, but that doesn’t mean your makeup has to be! Add a bit of brightness with a pop of a red, tangerine or pink lipstick. If you like my make up, take a look at this post here to know which shade of lipstick and eye pencil I have used to create this Look.
Pay attention to hosiery: If you are wearing a short dress like me (here) or a skirt, then make a statement with lacy, polka dotted or sheer tights.
Last but not the least, winter fashion is all about layering. Layer it well as staying warm is most important! But Layer it smartly to look sleek.
Try this Look, drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you have to say.
