My fashionistas, I have had the opportunity to attend BAAF fundraising event at Andrew Barton salon (voted the best London salon for the two consecutive years) in Covent garden on 28th January. What an amalgamation of beauty, fashion and a cause for children. As guests squeezed into Andrew’s glamorous salon on a very cold night they were treated to champagne, canapés, finger-licking sushi and offered personal hair consultations from Andrew and his award winning team, as well as make-up demonstrations and individual consultations from celebrity makeup artist Ariane Poole. There were also consultants on hand from The Dental Surgery on teeth-whitening all raising funds for BAAF. The very presence of the personal stylist team of John Lewis was a breath of fresh air. The cherry on the cake is the raffle draw where I won a hamper of luxury products sponsored by John Lewis. Not only me but other guests attending the event won prizes like a cut and colouring session worth £300.00 with Andrew Barton and his team, a hair styling tong and curler all-in-one and a coffee table book by the Stylist, a teeth-whitening kit and a complimentary session with a personal stylist from John Lewis. And it doesn’t end there, I came home with goodie bags filled with skin-care products, chocolates and fragrances, freebies from celebrity make-up artist Ariane Poole and a massive discount coupon for cut and styling session at the celebrity hair stylist Andrew Barton. Guess what? Every single guest at the event loved my shoes:)
The primary aim of the evening is fundraising for British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) , however the patron Andrew Barton has generously offered his salon, and there were other beauty professionals offering consultations too, to give all guests a chance to experience their services.
I’m not sure if you know too much about the charity. The British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) is the UK’s leading adoption and fostering charity. Since 1980, they have transformed the lives of nearly 10,000 children and helped over a million people. It is a family finding organization and also work to raise awareness of the severe shortage of adopters and foster carers. Working across and the UK, it campaigns, trains and advises all involved in adoption and fostering from prospective parents to social workers and medical advisers. BAAF believes every child should have a safe, secure and loving ‘Forever Family’, and work towards this goal.
