beach cover ups

My fashionistas, it is almost illegal to talk about Summer before Easter, but not when on two consecutive weekends, we saw temperatures peak at around 20C in London town. Londoners are basking in the sun on the warmest day of this Spring today with temperatures nearly higher than Ibiza. Talking of Ibiza, I thought to share a look I tried for a summer holiday of bliss, when I got to live the life of a beach bum:)

No beach holiday is complete without the perfect accessories to tie together your outfit. One of my summer holiday essentials are my cover-ups. If sand or water will be involved in my day, I always pack a cover up. Cover-ups are your that piece of outfit which you wear in between the break time from swimming or simply a dip in the Sea. So, stock up on holiday essentials and invest in a cover up that is perfect for both the beach and casual daytime looks. After all who doesn’t want to look a fashionista in a sexy cover-up while sipping a glass of Sangria on the Blue Marlin beach in Ibiza or wherever you choose to go!

No matter what your style tribe – classic in an oversized white T-shirt; club-kid in a loose neon bomber jacket or Island-hippy in a flowy maxi dress – throwing on a cover-up is the easiest way to keep cool, when it’s hot. I needed not to look for it elsewhere. This tunic-length Kurti-style Lucknowi-chikan embridered chiffon blouse brought a laid back elegance to my beach look. I remember buying it almost a decade ago from Delhi and have been teaming it with Jeans and maxi skirts. But using it as a beach cover-up  was no mean feat, eh!

Top tip: You don’t have to spend a ton of money or shop for hours to get a new wardrobe and create new looks every time you step out. Instead of getting new clothes or throwing out your old ones, look through your existing wardrobe , you may find gems that you almost forgot about. Re-cycle your wardrobe to get a new one, get creative!

Try wearing your boho-style tunic top as beach cover-up on your next beach or resort holiday. Drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you have to say:)
