My fashionistas, the blooming affair persevered on the spring 2014 runways, taking the form of light-as-air dresses, slim-fit trousers, outstanding gowns, tailored suits, flowy skirts and silky jumpsuits alike. If you’re not keen on approaching a head-to-toe floral look, this season offers plenty of equally stunning alternatives- like mixing them with pastels. Make sure to find all the inspiration you’ll need, from the nature.
Clashing prints is the number one style rule to stick with this Spring-Summer, and combining it with pastels is a masterclass for fashionistas accross the world. I have tried this look on the Day 1 of my Spring holiday in San Francisco. It worked so well because the yellow blazer and the Pale pink handbag and the matching strappy mini-gladiator individually are complimentary colours, while the lace tank top with tiny daisies and bold floral print trouser take a back seat, but together the prints and pastels take centre stage.
The unpredictable weather in San Francisco was really harsh on my hair. Those of you live there, know well that it’s mostly overcast, yet bright enough to feel like it’s Summer always, warm enough to go without a light jacket but chilly wind will make you change your mind again. Sometimes I didn’t even know where my hair actually is. Literally blown away by the gusty wind. Learnt lesson on Day 1, thereafter never kept them open.
Top tip: Carry a light jacket or blazer, a scarf and your sunglasses once in San Fran City even in Spring-Summer.
Floral prints may not be groundbreaking, but they will forever be considered the embodiment of Spring, familiar yes, but never falling far from extraordinary. Around this time of the year, you can always count on a full floral fantasy to assure a smooth transition between seasons- Spring to Summer and this Spring is no different. Betting on a modern take on florals, the Spring- Summer 2014 fashion trends hint the new dawn of femininity.
I have embraced this clash of floral prints and pastels in this Spring-Summer. Will you? Drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you have to say:)
