My fashionistas, one of the best times I had in the recent time is when my partner and I have driven through the Pacific coast highway- Ocean, mountain and valley all in one stretch. Saw layers of colors when Sun was setting, clouds kissing the mountain and finally, danced in the rain on the Pismo beach. Getting lost in the tiny towns of California, stuffing your face with organic box lunch hand picked from the massive buffet at the whole food market, pulling out on hard shoulder for photo shoots in a valley of mustard yellow and wine plantation, grooving with American rock music playing on the radio can get only better when shared with your best friend and partner for 14 years! More than 17 hours on the road and I came back with these pictures to share this experience with you all.
How illuminating this look for a road trip on State Route 1 of the pacific coast highway; from skirts, to necklace to sandals…I have got shine on my mind:)
Shimmering fabrics and shiny accessories are all the rage this season. With metallic all around, there’s no need to save your flashy fashion statements until after dark. This look presents some of the coolest metallic trends to wear at all times of the day. I have bought this skirt from Delhi ages ago. I wore it first on a holiday in Kerala back in 2005. That’s it. Last year, I was going through my closet with a mission to purge and to put some of the items on sale or donate to charity, I found this gypsy metallic skirt. After seeing metallics come down the Spring 2014 runways at Givenchy, Altuzara, and Saint Laurent, it was official, this season calls for lustrous shine—night or day. My classic golden long skirt is put to use again. This is the season to go head-to-toe in metallic or just add a little glimmer to your look with a clutch or shiny shoes. You’ll surely be a standout in any of these pieces.
This bohemian-meets-Indian-ethnic skirt never allows me to part with its shine and gorgeous Gujarati stitch embroidered border. To create a fresh vibe (and to avoid too much shine), I paired the skirt with statement pieces with toned-down essentials like turtle neck crop top, chunky hand cuff and flat off-white sandals with a bit of gold rush. I wore natural makeup with tangerine lips and simple top knot hairstyle which together act as metallic’s perfect foil.
Top tip: To beat the weather blues and jump-start your spring-Summer wardrobe, select an edgy accessory to amp up your everyday outfits, or try a bold shiny skirt you can wear with your favorite cozy blouse and crop tops.
Look, shop and be shiny this season…drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you have to say.
