My fashionistas, off-late I’ve been in handbag-seventh-heaven literally. There were months when I’d shopped for only shoes- sometimes 7 pairs in a row and then there is one like the current; I just ordered for the 7th piece of handbags this month. Sinner!
This beauty from The Cambridge Satchel Company collection was long overdue. It had to be this Orchid pink for some unknown reasons. Unlike most women, I’m not much brain-washed by the color– pink. My wardrobe have pink clothing and accessories that I can count in my finger tips. However, my first encounter with TCSC convinced me that if I ever own one, it got to be from the floral hues family.
Inspired by a quintessentially British Summer, this Orchid satchel is from TCSC’s Spring’14 Collection. I was unusually confused to choose between the shades of pink they have to offer as ‘’they all looked gorgeous’’, according to my friend who was accompanying me to TCSC’S pop-up store in Spitafields Market. The entire collection pairs delicate floral hues of Bellflower Blue and Peach Pink with highlights of fresh Apple Green and bringing a beautiful seasonal colour palette to the classic Satchels, Shoulder Bags and Clutches. Just for Spring ’14 they have also introduced a petite limited edition 11″ Backpack, available exclusively in Vintage and Red – perfect for packing those last minute ‘mini’ picnic snacks!
Displaying a range of their Classic Satchels, Batchels, Music Bags and Trunks along the walls, this pop-up store also stocks a selection of exclusive products, including the Mini Mickey satchels, orchid passport covers, key rings, fluorescent pink trunks and new white trunks. Whilst the design of the store is minimalist – paired back to whitewashed brick walls and simple shelving units, the interior carefully hints to the humble beginnings of the company, with kitchen tables a focal point of the shop floor. The store checkout is just few welcoming feet away where a friendly and easy-going store-assistant smiles at you as soon as you enter without making any effort to hard-selling to you, she even let me check the actual color of the bag in broad daylight by taking it outside the door as the lighting inside the store can be deceptive sometimes. Also I mentioned earlier, I was annoyingly confused to choose between various shades and sizes of pink satchels available there.
Why it took me this long? Noting the sky-high price range, I waited, like a thirsty vulture and targeted my prey just when TCSC hits the 40% discount button during this summer sale. So, hurry up!
I once read somewhere, you are officially not a fashion blogger unless you own one satchel from the classic brand- The Cambridge Satchel Company. Well…I guess, this Orchid pink satchel made me one now?!
What went to your shopping basket this month? I have plenty to share with you all about my other handful of newbuy.
Stay tuned, stay stunned!0
