My fashionistas, I’m hoping you all had a good weekend! In the UK, we’re having a long-weekend for bank holiday, so I’m happily blogging in the wee hours:) I regret for not blogging very often in the past 2 weeks, those of you are with me on Facebook and Instagram, know that, I had been to Croatia to attend my bestie’s wedding coupled with a quick tour around the breathtaking countrysides. After spending couple of days in Dubrovnik (will share the experience in the following posts), my beautographer and I had driven about 800 km covering 2 countries and 6 towns- all in a day. When you think of the long-drive through the heart Croatia, we’re guessing summer-y images of cobalt blue water of Adriatic sea in one side, honey-mocha colored mountain on the other surrounded by lush green fill your head. Here’s a little secret, though: Croatia’s lil touristy towns is just as modern and lovely—if not lovelier—bathed in old town’s soft light. I’ve composed these pictures as the drive starts from the top tip of Croatia- Dubrovnik, through a small pocket of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Split and Trogir- the port-dotted towns of Croatia, stroll through roman ruins and of course, gaze at the beautiful houses and churches with neatly overlapping red and orange tiled roofs, an extra layer of professionally-applied make-up on this model Dalmatian region.
I’m a believer of dressing up for the place, for an occasion or no occasion. What separates a typical tourist and a wanderer is the way you dress up and the things you do while traveling. By now, you all know, I plan for holiday wardrobe well in advance; based on the findings through primary desk research, I gather about a country’s culture, landscapes and most importantly colors and conceptualise my looks accordingly. My recent trip to Croatia was no exception. Noting the brilliant blue water of Adriatic sea and our vagabonding in and around the port-cities, I had opted for a cyan chiffon maxi dress on this road-trip.
For the cool breezes of Summer, nothing beats a blowy maxi dress, especially on the beach or for sea-side walking. This one is actually an off-shoulder with cross back for a Beach-boho look—talk about versatility! So, check this cyan backless crossed strap maxi dress off from your must-have wardrobe list for Summer. Start the day on the beach or gala dinner at night in this stunning maxi dress. With a gorgeous cross back design with long straps to tie around the waist and tie a bow in the low open back, this dress is all about movie star glam. I wore it during the day with a large pink flower stuck in my side bun and a heart-shaped pearl clutch by a shining Indian designer Tarini Nirula to finish the look. My half pearl and half gold hand-cuff matched well with the pearl clutch. The only shine is the new addition to my collection of sunglasses- this blue mirror Ray-ban.
This particular one is your wardrobe summer-ready maxi dress for beach holidays or even for red carpet-do. This also tops the list of my favourite summer colors. Get inspired and wear a chiffon maxi dress in your next beach-holiday. Drop me a line at the comment section as I like to hear what you’ve to say:)
Stay tuned, stay stunned!
