Autumn is a celebration of all that has come to fruition. As an autumn born myself, I feel autumn is achievement and accomplishment. In autumn, everything prepares itself to begin anew. For me, autumn is a time of great hope, healing and faith. It creates the seeds of future promises made and kept. Without autumn, there can be no winter sustenance or renewal in spring. The autumn 2015 fashion season is almost upon us, and of course, we don’t really want to think about next winter yet either. But with power coats, tons of Victoriana lace dresses, ankle boots, warmer hues like orange, maroon and purple and royal style revival with hats to get our heads around, there are plenty of hot new trends to start getting excited about now. To me, autumn weather also means it’s hat weather.

By now you probably have observed, I love wearing hats, especially in autumn, and spring as well so talk about a style twist there! One of my favourite hat styles to sport in autumn is a fur hat. The best thing about fur hats is that, besides looking super cool and stylish they keep us warm and comfy. Big, small, faux fur, real fur, black, brown, white, red or super bright colored, all fuzzy & airy or au contraire thick and dense, the fur hats now so fashionable hats satisfy all tastes and styles. As you know I have just returned from my maiden trip to Russia, so, I tried to go the local way and attempted a Russian style that goes well with such hat. Russian women adore fur hats not only because it looks chic and stylish, but also because it helps them to keep warm and snuggled up. With this look, I’m remaking the Russian aristocratic ladies in the 1800’s who looked so ravishing in fur hat while keeping warm on a blistering cold in Moscow.

Wearing a fur hat reminds me about 19th century when such beauties were necessary for every society women. Add a pearl necklace and a lace dress, it will become romantic Russian imperialism with its fine fashion and style. This fashion of wearing fur hats is back in time this season. It’s impossible to ignore such beauties like shapely fur hat or soft fluffy fur stole all over the high-street stores. It really doesn’t matter who is a PETA activist and prefer real fur or not – it will look glamorous anyway.

Moreover, modern fashion is now able to propose the superfine faux furs, which don’t yield up by its quality to real fur. Fashion designers are now returning to the mid 19th century Russian opulence and exquisite taste. Perhaps, this is the reason why fur and all aristocratic style revive this season in most autumn/winter collections. These are collections that make you wish for freezing weather (even if you despise cold weather) just to wear those chic fur hats and stoles over thick tailored coat. Let the femininity bloom!

I tried to stick to the Russian style by wearing a dress with my fur hat but with a modern twist, instead of wearing a quintessentially lace dress for a day out in the Moscow Kremlin, I wore a color-blocked dress with geometric pattern. It makes such chic and glamorous look. Moreover, lace looks brilliant in formal occasions, not for a day look.

It pains me to even go back and think that the weather in Moscow was nothing short of miserable during our stay. It rained almost everyday with sunny intervals. Grey and cloudy sky are biggest enemies of photography. Also, no Sun means it’s colder, naturally. In spite of that we tried to make the most of it, also thanks to my super advance wardrobe planning, I always had a back-up plan in case the weather turns out worse after all that’s all I can control. I packed this black polo neck as a spare piece, in case it’s colder than the forecasts, I could always layer on which I did with this dress. A pair of ankle boots in brown and a black quilted messenger bag have kept this look simple yet classy.

The best thing about fur hats is that, besides looking chic and glamorous, it keeps you warm and comfy. I just love that snug feeling it gives me. Once you’ll try it, you’ll never want to split up with fur hats.
