For our second and last leg of the Russia trip, we made our way over to Saint Petersburg (we are already working on the detailed voyage posts and will be shared soon here). As hyped as it sounds, the city of Saint Petersburg can put Paris into shame, if I may say so. I felt so inspired by everything around me and I feel it translated into my daily looks. For a day out in the city, I opted for this clean oversized shirt. It’s such a timeless piece that is so seamlessly elegant without having to put too much thought into it. Long shirts or tunics like these definitely make getting dressed a lot easier. The fabric is light and airy, making it ideal for hot summer days or in the early autumn chill full of walking around to the city’s major attractions and at night by the canal. I love this navy backless oversized shirt because it felt like the most wonderful summer shirt but also like I could layer over a polo neck jumper when the temperature went below 20 degrees in early autumn in Russia. The weightless material moved without restriction and having the open back inspired me to put my hair in a ponytail to really enhance the ease of the look.
Why only picking it for a travel-in-style look, infact it is the seaon to get super-effortless style down to an oversized shirts or long tunics with cool collections from the high street. Laidback luxe is in and I can’t wait to rock them from day through to night from season to season. Whether you go for a sports-luxe, floral or breezy chiffon style, you’ll be sure to look stylish in a super-flattering oversized shirt. For a city break in Russia, I went oversized shirt for the ultimate relaxed styling, teamed with mid-heel sandals and brick colored fitted jeans. Since I was on holiday, I styled it with a chunky metallic tribal necklace and a multi-colored beaded box clutch with pompom details but choose an over-the-shoulder bag to make it a chic and understated look which you can take from desk to date.
Unlike Moscow, the weather in Saint Petersburg during our stay was gorgeous and most definitely beyond expectation. Getting to bask in the St. Petersburg sun all day means my sunglasses game had to be strong, which is why this mirrored aviator was the optimal choice!
I just love how something as simple as an oversized shirt can make an outfit feel that much more special. The color is so classic and the design so intricate that I felt I could wear it all day! Perfect for walking around with a pair of denim trouser or just sitting by the Neva river enjoying the serene sunset in the second largest city of Russia.
