As you have seen that I have done a favourites/ make-up haul blog post in August, so thought to continue with this ritual and write one for this month as well. The beginning of a new season and the beginning of a new blog series! Obviously I’m not a beauty blogger and everything I know is learnt on my own through experimenting on me, so my favourites will be a mixture of everything from drugstore to designer collections with a lot of recommendations and through trial & errors. Although the title of this post suggests it’s a make-up haul, but I have also included my new skincare favourites along with a few beauty tools to help me get by in my daily routine. So lets get started!
I have tried, tested, researched all possible eyeliners from both high and low end that will last all day at work or all night in a night out. I had 3 criteria to match: 1) Jet Black, 2) Matt and 3) Liquid Pencil Eyeliner. This is the one! It ticks all the boxes. I usually use the thin pencil for work or a day time look and the thick for more dramatic night time or special occassion make up. It’s a must have for my make up bag at the moment.
It is probably the BEST eyeliner for creating the perfect winged eye or if you want to create simple flick. It is effortless to use, easy to remove as well.
I like to try new brands and see how different they are from the established hero products. During my last minute visit to Boots just before heading out to Russia, I was basically looking to get a brush that I can use for more than one purposes- use to conceal, highlight or even simply sculpt. My only criteria was it should be good quality but low in price since I already have a Sigma brush which is (not cheap) great but a little heavy to fit into my travel make-up bag. While browsing through the shelves at Boots, I spotted this magic wand. This earth friendly EcoTools Bamboo Deluxe Concealer Brush is perfect for concealing dark under-eye circles, sun spots, and other minor imperfections.
This brush is great, lovely and soft, tapers nicely, distributes product evenly and overall is fab value for money (I have had worse concealer brushes from expensive brands that have shed and left streaks). I love this brush so much that I will definately be looking to buy other products from the eco tools range. It is dense enough to blend concealer easily but still smooth. It dried quickly after washing. I like having the pouch to keep it clean when I’m not using it, it’s not the prettiest pouch but comes in useful 🙂

Clinique, Liz Earle, Elizabeth Arden, La Roche Posay are the cleanser/ facewash brands I have used in the last 15 years, not all of them together at the same time but at different times, of course. But nothing pleases my skin this way! This new found love Avène gentle gel cleanser is formulated for sensitive normal to combination skin. I get very oily in the t-zone, moreover as I shared before, I breakout every month- at least one pimple will make sure it visits my face. This is THE life-saving facewash/ cleanser. Avène is a unique range dedicated to sensitive, intolerant to allergic skin. Gently eliminates skin impurities. Ideal for those who prefer a rinse-off make-up remover. Based on only extra-gentle cleansing agents, this very mild gel removes all traces of make-up from the face, the eyes and the lips. It leaves the skin soft and supple. Its rich texture has been enriched with moisturising agents to prevent skin dryness.
I didn’t buy this on a whim, I just had to replace my old one as it was totally worn out. I disapprove my fine new grown hair on my forhead getting in the way whilst cleansing. This does the job perfectly, it is lovely and soft as well. Perfect for keeping hair out of the face while you wash, exfoliate, or moisturize. Also great when applying treatments, face masks etc. It feels really soft and nice quality too.
Till now, I was somehow managing with cotton buds to do those minor corrections while doing make-up, but since I bought me this box of sunshine, it simply made my life easier in front of dressing table. These dual-purpose organic cotton cosmetic buds are perfect for all of your beauty needs: the flat, rounded end is ideal for applying make-up or creams, and the pointed end helps you correct make-up mistakes and smudge eyeliner with precision.
Hair removal cream is not my ideal choice, waxing is. But it is certainly better than shaving. So, recently, when after a couple hot waxing session at the salon went wrong, my under arms got a bit sensitive. I couldn’t think of another alternative but to use hair removal cream.
Designed for sensitive skin hair removal, this Veet hair removal cream is enriched with Hydro’Restor to restore skin hydration. Designed to work close to the root of the hair. It serves my purpose just fine until I save up to get laser treatment done to remove hairs from my under arms permanently (yes that’s a plan!). For legs and arms, I still rely on my old method and make a visit to the salon once in 3 weeks.
Do you use any of these items? If you haven’t yet, would you like to try? Drop me a line at the comment section, as I like to hear what you have to say. I hope you had a great month! Are you looking forward to October? I know, I’m.
Stay tuned, stay stunned!
