When autumn arrives, my favorite thing to do is layer my clothing. Because the weather still kind of bounces back and forth between warm and cold, layering becomes mandatory and all you need are a few good basics to make it work effortlessly. Having the right basics is key to making an smart easy look, and nothing makes this statement quite as smoothly as a 70’s boho dress layered with a tailored vest ensemble. Anything loose and lightweight meets the brief!
Wearing black & white always makes you feel confident and sophisticated without too much hassle. It’s simple to throw together and looks like you put more thought into it than you actually did. This 70’s boho inspired polka dot dress in monochromatic tone was so easy to style when I spotted the other gem of this look- this tailored sleeveless coat in quintessential autumn hue. It’s definitely a go-to in the morning when I can’t figure out what I want to wear—it’s minimalism is consistently reliable. This beautiful dress itself is great because it’s the perfect length to pair with this vest and can be accessorized, layered and paired with boots of all heights. The dress is sleek, slim-fit and elegant with just the right amount of detailing, like the subtle pussy bow on the neck and the bell sleeves. These unexpected small things make all the difference and take this seemingly simple 70’s boho dress to another level. Layering it with a long sleeveless tailored coat or vest as some may call it adds some edge and I styled this outfit with a low side ponytail and a mini white messenger bag. A rush of gold with citrine bracelet and a few rings have finished out this look. These simple additions add some zest to the dress without taking away from its appeal. Can’t go wrong with that. Can’t help but like this 70’s vibe boho dress and tailored vest.
Top Tip: Tailored or faux-fur vest with dress and boots this autumn!
On another note, I want to share that life has significantly slowed down as far as travelling is concerned. Our next Voyage is planned around Christmas holidays (Still a month and 10 more days to go). We can’t go anywhere fast, even if we wanted to (arghh! annual leave), but we are also enjoying the change in pace, the changed weather in the UK will ensure we stay inside as much as possible, meaning, now is the right time to share all the pending voyage stories from our Russia trip back in September. Excuse me for my lack of recent adventures, but I’m rather enjoying London’s bustling beauty and the transition into winter.
