“Not all those who wander are lost,” well it feels joyous, and gives me confidence about each wandering step I take when I’m wearing something that is equally comfortable as it is chic. When exploring through the streets of London, a place known for it’s incredible high-fashion, I really enjoy creating the perfect coffee to cocktail o’clock look. It’s the ideal opportunity to mix some essential laid-back basics with something that grabs a little more attention, and this classic striped prom midi skirt do just that—statement pieces for the win!

I absolutely love the playful bell shape on this skirt, and the monochromatic hues give vibrance against the gloomy, rainy weather that we experience most days in London. Styling this otherwise black & white outfit with a pair of suede stilettos in magenta and wearing my lips in the same shade gave this look a very unique feeling that is well suited to this city’s vibes. Wearing my hair in a pony tail, I finished out the look with a black messenger bag (remove the hanging chain, it becomes a comfy clutch) —kind of symbolic of my love of strutting down the ever-so-happening London streets!

Top tip: What’s great about this striped skirt is that you can either dress it up for a night out with friends, like I did, or down, for a day of walking around (just add flat ballerinas or brogue).

I wore them with my favourite and also what I call a wardrobe essential – a crop top to give it a clean, more sporty feel, but to enhance the sophistication a little more I chose to wear a solid black, sleeveless roll-neck one. I love these sleeveless high-neck tops because I find them to be very classy, versatile, refining any look, but they also give an approachable relaxed vibe, which is very appealing. It completes the look and keeps this beautiful prom skirt as the focal point. Now I’m ready to wander!
