Peaches are in season and so are beaches. Given the balmy air around, it’s all outdoor fun in everyone’s mind. But when you’re back home and looking for some inner quiet, invite over some dear ones for a cup of tea served with cakes made of in-season peaches. A bake to make a cake is perfect to shake up some evening conversation. So ding dong! Who’s ringing the bell?
Pucker up to Peach Cake!
Ingredients I Used
150gm butter, softened, divided
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 medium sized sliced fresh peaches
3/4 cup (12 tablespoons) sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 and a half cups self-raising flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Lets bake now
Step one: Melt 1/4 cup butter; pour into an ungreased 9-in. round baking pan.
Step two: Sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange peach slices in single layer over sugar.
Step three: In a large bowl, cream sugar and remaining butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
Step four: Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Spoon over peaches.
Step five: Bake at 150 degree for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring onto a serving plate or cake stand. Serve warm.
