Chia seed pudding is an easy and delectable way to simply get the benefits of chia seeds. It takes less time to make than a cup of tea and has the right amount of protein and nutrients to be an instant, on-the-go breakfast option.
Personally, I love this with some nuts, fresh fruits or dry fruits for breakfast or a tooothsome low-sugar dessert.
This palatable and healthy chia seed pudding packed with protein, Omega-3, antioxidants and calcium that you can make in under 5 minutes. I prefer to make this at night to have ready for a quick breakfast the next day. It is also great to make in the morning for a delicious dessert at night.
I am sharing the basic recipe here which I prepare most often, but I have also shared a few variations below that you can experiment at home.
Preparation time: 5 minutes Serves: 4 servings
Ingredients I Used:
2 cups milk (I used almond)
½ cup Chia Seeds
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup honey (or any sweetener)
Optional: desiccated coconut, macadamia nuts(or use almond/cashew/pine/pistachio nuts) and berries of your choice (I used raspberry and blueberry)
Lets make now
Pour milk, vanilla extract, honey into a jar or glass container and mix well. Add chia seeds, nuts and fruits to it. Stir well. Place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight to let gel.
Chia Seed Pudding Variations
The beauty of this recipe is that there are dozens of ways to prepare it according to your taste. You can change the flavor, the texture, the ingredients, the sweetener, the color and practically any other part of the recipe and it is almost impossible to go wrong. I’ve included the basic vanilla coconut chia seed pudding recipe that I make above, but you can try these variations:
-Mix up the flavour; add banana or chocolate or even add your favourite protein powder
-Eat or drink blended or whole; for blended/smooth version: Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes until completely smooth.
How Long Can You Keep Chia Seed Pudding?
This recipe uses all natural ingredients and freshly made from the scratch at home, it tastes best within two days after it is made. The ideal time to eat is the day after making it for best flavor. I prefer to make on weeknights to have it ready the next morning for quick and healthy breakfast.
I would recommend only making the amount you plan to eat over a couple days period for best flavor and freshness.
