“Man, it’s a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
And if you said, “This life ain’t good enough.”
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you’re so smooth” (Santana, Smooth)
Winter can be difficult and its better to wrap up before venturing out. But once you are back home inside the warmth and comfort of your home, head to the kitchen to wrap up some salmon, green and root vegetables instead. Heat up your oven to set the stage warm and ready for the wrapped up ingredients to start their exchange of flavored pleasantries.
Weekdays are about being in routine and stay disciplined. Because after all the treats over the weekend, it’s about bringing a balance to your diet. As you know, on a good day, I eat 5 small meals, two of which are snacks. Grabbing a cookie or biscuit with a cup of tea is convenient but I prefer to have something more fulfilling and nutritious. Muesli is one of my favourite healthy mixes. I love it for breakfast mixed with some fresh berries and greek yogurt, but baking with muesli is brilliant! With its mix of sunflower seeds, raisins, dates, almonds, walnuts and grains… it makes a perfect blend of crunchy and sweet yet healthy treat.
Chia seed pudding is an easy and delectable way to simply get the benefits of chia seeds. It takes less time to make than a cup of tea and has the right amount of protein and nutrients to be an instant, on-the-go breakfast option.
“From where you stand, it’s no way to change it
No way to make it make sense
And it’s lonely there, there in the spot light
Well honey, don’t I understand?
You need someone to love you,
You need someone to hold you tonight
Someone to love you, someone to love you” (Mary J. Blige)
“…No place for beginners or sensitive hearts When sentiment is left to chance No place to be ending but somewhere to start No need to ask, he’s a smooth operator Smooth operator, smooth operator, smooth operator…” (Sade, 1984)
