In 2015, Team Onetimefashionista set voyage across 4 countries, 2 islands, 2 deserts and 13 cities/locations in 4 continents to share the joy with you that how addictive and enriching it is to see the world by yourself with all your senses. Earlier in 2015, we set foot on the southern most point of the United States where the foamy waves of the Pacific Ocean splashed on our feet in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. We climbed up the Kjerag Mountains to see a dangling rock and completed an epic 2200 km cross-country drive through the country where God lives – Norway. Then we put a big tick on the biggest country of the whole world while we hummed and followed “The Moskva, down to Gorky Park, listening to the wind of change…” in Russia. Finally, towards the end of the happening year, we went to the cradle from where it all started for the human civilisation – Egypt – where it all began!
There are certain places that give you an assurance of an amazing stay as soon as you see the photos on a hotel booking website. There was no two way about this feeling when we fixed our gaze at Hotel Indigo to be our nest in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
The unique aspect of the voyage stories of the Team Onetimefashionista is the fact that we try to enjoy a location we explore from three perspectives if possible. In other words, along with curiously exploring the venues on ground, we always try to view the town or city from an altitude high enough to have a bird’s eye view. But frankly we never thought that we could ever experience how a city moves under the ground and that so beautifully, until we immersed ourselves with the common Muscovites and residents of St. Petersburg in the gorgeously designed metro networks of these Russian cities. The way the trains arrive and leave and the city keeps moving, as if it creates an amazing symphony of movement, motion all in the elegant settings of a public museum for the public and its proud past.
